One of the many valuable benefits of a Club Scrap Membership is the monthly bonus formula. Pair it with paper you already have on hand to easily create beautifully balanced layouts ready for your photos!
Have a big event or vacation to scrap? Try combining the bonus formula with additional papers from the current monthly collection. Add them to the eight Page Kit layouts to extend the total number of pages with a single theme or color palette.
August Bonus Formula
Members: Have you downloaded your copy of the Bonus Formula yet? If you're unsure where to find it, check your inbox; each month members receive the member-exclusive email with important links to the page formula, instructions, video tutorials and more. It is sent to active members* on shipping day and looks like this:

Page Sketch
So much more than just a "sketch", the August Page Formula creates a well-balanced two-page spread from just FIVE coordinating 12x12 papers. This month's layout has space for tons of photos!
To get started, download the formula and gather the number of papers indicated on the gather list. Trim and sort the cut pieces according to the step-by-step instructions. Finally, assemble the finished layout with the sketch as your guide. Once you're ready, add photos and embellishments—it's easy AND fun!
Sea Life Bonus Layout
To recreate the two-page spread below, gather the following papers from the August 2026 collection:
- Paper A = Shell Print
- Paper B = Purple
- Paper C = Dk. Blue
- (2) Paper D = Lt. Blue
Once the trimmed elements are adhered to the base papers, it's time to add photos and embellishments. The August theme and color palette is perfect for photos from our trip to the Maldives last year, and these pages will supplement those I scrapped earlier from the Sea Life Page Kit.
As you can see from the sketch, the mats can be used for a number of smaller photos. Alternatively, you can crop a single photo to span the space created by two mats, like I did below.
I chose artwork from the Card Cutaparts to embellish my pages, so they coordinate with (but are different from) the Page Kit layouts. In this case, I cropped the cute little fish to 1.75" square, rounded the corners and attached it to the mat with foam adhesive.
Here's another instance where I chose to display a larger, single photo in lieu of two smaller ones. Cropping the photo to 3x5-7/8" allows it to nest perfectly onto the pair of double mats.
On the right side, I was able to add another full-sized photo to the layout by treating the panels at the top of the page as photo mats. Trim the photo to 3.5" tall, round two corners, and add it to the upper left corner of the page with an 1/8" reveal on the top, bottom and left sides.
