Inspired by Tricia's amazing layout for the Adirondacks blog hop, we challenged our Artist Team to create cards or pages that look dimensional, but are really just one layer.

Adirondacks Blog Hop One Layer Layout

Trending for a while now, the "clean and simple" (CAS) look is popular with stampers and card makers. It's a bit more challenging to achieve the look on scrapbook pages, but Tricia proves it can be done. Follow her simple tutorial to craft your way to a gorgeous "CAS" layout! I decided to give it a try.

ONE LAYER LAYOUT

To duplicate my page, start with 12x12 black plain. Mask off a border strip with washi tape and highlight edges using ink applicator with Distress Oxide ink. Create a faux "mat" using a 4.25 x6.25" mask. Ink around perimeter with Wilted Violet. Add border detail with fine tip black marker (Delft Deluxe kit) and grid ruler.
