Create a Tri Panel project featuring lots of mixed media techniques and the gorgeous Beautiful Noise collection.
This project was inspired by watching my friend Linda Wiese during a Facebook Live presentation. As the owner of Valley Stamp and Scrap, she has found a way to connect with her clients during this difficult time. Each day she goes live to share fun techniques and new products.
Tri Panel Project
Trim three mixed media paper panels to 4.5x6". Add acrylic paints to each of the three panels. Carve lines in the damp paint in a criss cross design with a palette knife to add texture. Continue to add paint layers and texture with this technique.
Add texture to assorted colored Beautiful Noise panels with embossing folders.
Brush a layer of white gesso onto the panels. Remove some of the paint with scrap paper while the gesso is still wet. Add acrylic paint to the embossed panels and press onto areas of the painted artwork, using the raised surface like a stamp. Set aside the embossed papers for use in future projects.
Stamp each panel with Beautiful Noise sheet music, flower, and G clef images in coordinating hybrid ink colors (Earth, Ocean, and India Ink).
Add Flower Petal Washi Tape to the panels.
Layer the mixed media panels onto three 4.75x6.25" Burgundy mats.
Trim three 5x6.5" boards from a Club Scrap pizza box with a Utility Knife on a cutting mat.
Wrap each board with a 6x7" Lt. Blue panel.
Turn the boards over and align with a grid ruler, making sure there is a .25" space between each board.
Lay a length of blue ribbon over the panels and tack down with a small amount of Bookbinding Glue dispensed from a Needle-tipped Applicator. Align the loop of the ribbon with the zero center on the Mini Grid Ruler.
Cover the ribbon with 4.5x5.75" Lt. Blue panels and adhere to secure.
Flip the entire the project over and adhere the painted panels.
Let's take another look at the finished project.
I hope you will make time to play this week. Happy Mixed Media Crafting!
