Surf Shop Stamps
Read on for details of how to recreate each card.
Card 1
Place the Birthday Wishes stamp into a stamp positioning platform. Apply Hybrid Inks (Yellow, Moss, Ocean and Sapphire) to the image, working from the lightest to darkest shades. Lightly dab the wet ink with an ink applicator brush to blend the colors directly on the stamp. Close the platform lid to transfer the image to a piece of white paper. Re-ink and stamp as needed to get a clear, crisp image.
Add the sun image above and below the sentiment with Yellow Ink.
Dispense a small dot of Bookbinding Glue from a Needle-tipped Applicator in the center of each sun image.
Add a small gold sequin to the glue and set it aside to dry.
Tie a length of yellow twine into a small bow and adhere it to the panel with Bookbinding Glue.
Card 2
Gather strips of Blue, Aqua, and Yellow papers and a Green folded card base.
Apply Bookbinding Glue to the back of each strip with a needle-tipped applicator.
Adhere to the front of the card as shown.
Following the steps for inking Card 1, apply Ocean and Moss Inks to the "Sea Sun Sand" image; stamp onto a white tag.
Trim the sentiment and add a small yellow sequin to the center of the sun to complete the card.
Card 3
Apply Earth Ink onto the bottom right corner of the trimmed white tag from Card 2 with an ink applicator brush.
Blend Lagoon Ink into the center of the tag, leaving a bit of white space between the inked areas.
Apply and blend Sapphire Ink onto the tag.
Stamp the sentiment with Earth Ink.
Add texture to a Flourish Kraft panel with a wood grain embossing folder (Sizzix 3D Texture Fade). Trim the panel to fit the front of a white card base.
Stamp the small van image on an embossed paper scrap with Lagoon Ink. Fussy cut the van with scissors.
Stamp the sun image twice onto a Yellow panel, carefully lining up the centers to form a circle. Remove the image with a 1" circle punch.
Add loops of yellow twine to front of the card.
Add the van to the center punched circle and adhere both over the loops with foam adhesive.
Card 4
Stamp the sentiment graphics onto Aqua, Blue and Yellow Panels with Lagoon, White Pigment, and Sapphire Inks.
Dust the White Pigment Ink with clear embossing powder and heat set to melt.
Trim the panels and adhere to a slimline card front.
Card 5
Stamp the surfboards on Yellow, Aqua, white and Blue panels with Moss, Lagoon, Earth, and Sapphire Inks. To create the wood grain look, drag the ink pad along the stamp, from top to bottom.
Fussy cut each surfboard; adhere to a texture-embossed white panel embellished with colorful paper strips.
Card 6
Add wood grain texture to a Blue Panel with an embossing folder. Tip: Spritz the paper with a bit of water to prevent cracking while embossing.
Add a small amount of white acrylic paint to a brush.
Swipe the paint over the raised areas of the panel to give it a whitewashed appearance. Set the panel aside to dry completely.
Stamp the Birthday wishes image in Earth Ink with the wood grain technique (from Card 5).
Remove the stamped sentiment with an oval-shaped die.
Tie a bit of natural and yellow twine around the embossed panel.
Adhere the die cut over the fibers with foam adhesive.
I love the added dimension!
Card 7
Stamp a variety of graphics onto white paper. Fussy cut to separate the graphics from the sentiments. Emboss a Blue panel with wavy lines folder.
Add color to the stamped images with markers.
Die cut Yellow and Aqua circles. Layer the circles onto the embossed panel; add the fussy cut graphics to create a collage.
