Create unique backgrounds with the classic Starburst Technique. I adore Lisa's samples featuring prints and papers from the vintage Autumn Splendor and the 2021 Woodland Christmas collections.
These fun paper-pieced panels make perfect use of the bevy of scraps I know we all have in our stash. Be sure to visit Lisa's personal blog where she shared her take on this technique on both a scrapbook page and greeting card.
Starburst Technique Tutorial
Trim a variety of plain and printed panels into long triangle shapes. The widths and lengths should vary to allow for perfect placement.
Adhere a small circle in one corner of a plain base panel. Position each triangle with the point touching the center of the circle to create the starburst shape. Once you are satisfied with the arrangement, adhere permanently with Bookbinding glue dispensed from a Needle-tipped Applicator.
Flip the starburst panel over and trim away the excess paper with a craft knife and Grid Ruler on a Club Scrap Cutting Mat.
Cover the center of the starburst with your choice of embellishment.
