Create backgrounds that pop with your favorite Club Scrap line-art stamps and the spotlight technique.
Lisa and I both fell in love with this fun idea and could not wait to share it with you. As an added bonus, I was able to practice alcohol marker coloring!
Spotlight Tutorial
Gather a 3.25x4.5" White and Lt. Gray panel. Note: The original technique uses ink to create the gray background - I thought using Lt. Gray paper would save a step.
Add a collage image (Whimsy 11.22) to each panel with Ash Ink.
Remove approximately one inch from the top and bottom of the White panel, preserving the center of the artwork.
Add color to the white panel with Ohuhu alcohol markers*. Begin by coloring the pink flower first.
Add shades of blue to a second set of flowers.
Blend yellow and orange for the last flower and pink flower center.
Color in the leaves as the final step.
Center and adhere the colored panel over the Lt. Gray, making sure the artwork aligns perfectly. Nest with black and pink mats.
