Petals Bonus Formula Sketch

Petals Bonus Formula Sketch

The Petals Bonus Formula creates a lovely two-page spread from just five sheets of paper. Creating a layout is simple when you follow the steps below:

  1. Gather five coordinating papers (a mix of prints and plains).
  2. Follow the cutting diagrams and instructions on the printable document.
  3. Dry fit the trimmed pieces onto the base papers, using the sketch as your guide.
  4. Once you are satisfied with the arrangement, assemble the layout using your favorite adhesive.
  5. Select photos and crop to fit the mats. (The 8x8" ruler is awesome for this!)

Petals Bonus Layout - Tricia

To replicate Tricia's pages, use the following paper assignments from the Petals collection: Two Brown/Lt. Purple Duplex Plain (Paper A and B), one Card Kit Print (Paper C), and two Dark Purple Plains (Paper D).

In lieu of individual photos, crop a single photo into two and adhere side by side. (Our handy 8x8 grid ruler is indispensable for measuring and cropping photos!)

Add a stamped sentiment in Amethyst ink to one of the plain squares. Accent with enamel dot stickers.

May Bonus Formula Layout - Karen

I decided to "remix" the color palette a bit by introducing black, and pairing a Petals print with coordinating colors from the What's Up, Buttercup? collection.

To create a layout like mine, gather the following papers: Petals Floral Print (Paper A), Buttercup Purple Plain (Paper B), Hooray Black (Paper C), and two Buttercup Green Plains (Paper D).

Nest white and lavender gingham ribbon onto the border strip on the left side of the layout. The "Beautiful" woodcut is from my stash.

Create a spot for journaling by trimming green plain (What's Up, Buttercup? Pack of Panels) to 2.5" square. Lightly draw guidelines with a pencil and grid ruler and nest onto one of the black 2.75" squares.

On the right page, tie a length of lavender gingham ribbon around the border strip and adhere it vertically along the right edge of the page.
