Each time we launch a special release page kit, folks ask if there is a matching card kit available. My answer is always the same: With Club Scrap's card making and project formulas, it's easy to transform any page kit into greeting cards. I can't wait to show you what I made with the Mon Amour kit!

Mon Amour Notecard Carriers and Cards

The first step (and usually the most difficult one), is choosing from among the many card formulas available. Due to the beauty of the Mon Amour theme, I knew it would make lovely cards. However, it could also be so much more. With that in mind, I chose the Notecard Carrier Project Instructions to create a handy card carrier that is home to eight 4.25x5.5" cards.

The Notecard Carrier instructions require seven 12x12 papers. Since special releases like the Mon Amour kit include 16 sheets of paper (instead of the typical twelve in a monthly page kit) you can double the formula to create two notecard carriers and 16 cards.

Getting Started

Begin with the purchase and download of the printable project instructions. Next, gather the following:

Mon Amour Page Kit
Steel Gray Folding Board
Hook & Loop Dots
A2 Envelopes (available in white or ivory)

Eiffel Tower Print Notecard Carrier

Utilize the following paper assignments to make the first set of cards and notecard carrier:

1 - (2) Gray
2 - Steel Gray Folding Board (reserve the second folio for later)
3 - Eiffel Tower Print
4 - Label Print (I trimmed this piece into six 4x5.25" panels)
5 - Black, Lt. Pink, Red Metallic

The trimming instructions provide the elements to create the folio structure, as well as enough card bases, panels and strips to make eight greeting cards. The page kit also includes printed cutaparts, ribbons and other embellishments to decorate the cards.

Remove the belly band and open the folio to reveal two pockets with tabbed closures inside. The pockets each hold four A2 cards with envelopes.

A pair of nesting rectangles seal the seam of the belly band. Embellish with the Eiffel Tower Woodcut, inked with India ink.

Please note: I used two additional tools to further enhance my cards - A heart-shaped punch and two embossing folders in different textures. Let's take a closer look at the cards inside:

Add a pair of small hearts - the sweet shape can be punched from even the smallest scrap. It adds so much!

Create a collage on the cutapart strip with the punched heart, ribbon and Vintage Stamp washi tape.

Run the Lt. Pink Panel through a postage-themed embossing folder.

Make the most of your cutaparts by trimming them down into individual elements.

And don't forget the inside of each card. This project formula creates quite a few long, narrow strips - put them to decorative use!

This sweet little heart is punched from a embossed Red Metallic scrap.

Trim a scrap of Gray to carefully disguise the journaling lines on this tag cutpart. Top with a silver Fleur-de-lis Accent.

When you begin to run low on sentiments, simply add favorites from your stamp stash.

Adhere the individual "stamps" from the semi-translucent washi tape to white scraps to make the artwork really "pop".

Label Print Notecard Carrier

Going through the instructions again with a second set of papers creates another notecard carrier and eight more cards.

Utilize the following paper assignments for the second set:

1 - (2) Pink Metallic
2 - Steel Gray Folding Board Folio (from above)
3 - Label Print
4 - Eiffel Tower Print (I trimmed this into six 4x5.25" panels)
5 - Red Metallic, Taupe Pattern, Black, Lt. Pink, Gray (This includes two extra plains left over)

Here's a detailed look at the eight cards inside:

The 4x5.25" print panels are so beautiful, very little embellishing is necessary

Add texture to the Gray panel with a script embossing folder.

Trim the "love you" and "so much" hearts from their square backgrounds. Adhere them with foam adhesive circles and finish the collaged look with a washi tape "stamp" and heart.

Layers, layers, layers! Nesting panels frame this stunning printed element from the cutapart sheet.

Embossing folders add texture to the background, and nested cutapart border strips add a touch of elegance.

The companion sentiment is tucked inside the card.

Camoflauge the journaling lines on the cutapart tag, top with a silver Fleur-dis-lis Accent.

Crop a scrap of Eiffel Tower Print to nest onto the interior of the tag cutapart to cover the journaling lines. Stamp with a favorite sentiment. (Red ribbon from my stash.)

Die cut the word "celebrate" from a scrap of Label Print and use BBG in a needle tipped applicator to adhere it onto the round cutapart (cut with a cirlcle die).

Interlock two lengths of pink ribbon across the front of the printed panel and wrap the ends around to the back side; tape into place. Add the Eiffel Tower charm.

Four Bonus Cards

Trimming the two extra sheets as described in Step 5 of the instructions, creates enough bases and panels to make four bonus cards. Stamped sentiments from your stash are added to complete the cards.

Aren't they lovely?

I love having a few projects like these at the ready - they make awesome impromptu gifts. Bring one to the next gathering as a thank you for the host, or surprise your child's teacher with a beautiful, and useful, handmade gift.
