Last week, Julie and Lisa wrote a blog post featuring the Mirrored Strips Technique to create fun and unique greeting cards. I was intrigued by the idea and thought it could be used to create accents for scrapbook pages, too!
I've been using a special double-sided tape for years to create different versions of "scrappy cards". It's available in several widths, but I prefer the 5" Ultra-Thin Double-Sided Tape* version for making card panels.
Mirrored Strips Prep
Unroll the tape to the desired length (in this case, 13"), and place it onto your work surface, sticky side facing up.
Add coordinating strips of paper until the entire adhesive surface is covered. Trim any paper extending past the edges of the tape; cut to 12" long.
Trim the 5x12" decorative strips panel vertically to the desired width. For the layout below, I trimmed the panel vertically at 4.5, 3.75, and 2.25". (Set the 2.25x12" strip aside for use on a future project.)
Follow the steps in Julie's Mirrored Strips Tutorial to die cut 1.5 circles from the 1.5x12" decorative strip. (Sizzix Framelits Nesting Circle Die Set*)

Create the Layout
Download the 2024 Make and Take Page Formula. Gather four sheets of paper as directed. (I used the following Round and Round Plains: Dusty Blue - Paper A, Gold - Paper B and two Manila - Paper C.)
Trim and sort the cut pieces. Follow the page sketch to dry-fit the layout.
Peel the backing from the .75x12 decorative strip and nest onto the 1x12 Gold (left page). Nest the .5x12 decorative strip onto the .75x12 Gold (right page). Adhere all of the trimmed elements to the base papers.
Rotate the left page 90 degrees (clockwise). Crop and adhere the photos. Die cut a 1.5" circle from one end of the 2.25 decorative strip (set aside earlier). Mat with a 1.75" Gold circle (die cut from the Pack of Panels). Cut the nested circles in half, adhere to the page as shown. Create a journaling box with a grid ruler, pencil and Manila plain (Pack of Panels).
On the right page, adhere the 1.5 decorative strip near the right edge of the 3x12 Dusty Blue. Peel the backing from the half circles and adhere next to the strip to complete the "mirrored" effect. Crop and add photos.
Cute, right? I'm addicted to making "scrappy cards" using various methods, now I can repurpose the same techniques on my scrapbook pages!
