Lotus Stamps

(The finished size of each card below is 4.25x5.5", unless otherwise noted.)

Card 1

Stamp the dragonfly (Ocean) and lotus flower (Amethyst and Leaf) images with hybrid inks on a white panel.

Stamp the large lily pad images beneath the lotus flower in Leaf Ink. Add Nuvo drops on the dragonfly wings to add a bit of shimmer.

Distribute the shimmer over the wings with a paint brush.

Add a sentiment to the panel in Ocean Ink.

Add a dotted texture to an Aqua panel with an embossing folder.

Layer the panel on a 4x5-1/4" Yellow mat. Adhere a 3/4x4" Purple strip vertically over the panels. Wrap a length of grosgrain ribbon around the panels and secure to the back with clear tape. Add the panels to a folded 4-1/4x5-1/2" Purple card base.

Adhere clear sequins next to the dragonfly with Bookbinding Glue to complete the card.

Card 2

Add Amethyst Ink to the lotus flower image and stamp onto a white panel.

Keeping the panel in position, add Leaf Ink to the stem and repeat the stamping process.

Stamp a sentiment in Ocean Ink to the left of the stem.

Wrap a length of purple satin ribbon around the lavender crinkle paper.

Secure to the back with clear tape.

Add a few clear sequins to complete the card.

Card 3

Stamp the two koi fish onto a Yellow panel with Carnation Ink.

Add the sentiment beneath the fish with Yellow Ink.

Distress the edges of the Yellow panel with Yellow Ink. Wrap the thin yellow ribbon around the panel beneath the sentiment. Adhere the ends to the back of the panel with clear tape.

Adhere the panel to a Pink folded card base.

Card 4

Stamp the Aqua panel with the koi fish images with White Pigment Ink. Heat set to dry.

Add the large lily pad images randomly placed around the fish with Ocean Ink.

Stamp the sentiment onto a small strip of Purple paper with Amethyst Ink.

Trim the Aqua panel to fit the height of the Purple card base; adhere into place, centered from left to right. Tie a small bow with the aqua grosgrain ribbon; adhere next to the sentiment to complete the card.

Card 5

Stamp the lily pad onto a white panel with Leaf Ink. Position the dragonfly stamp above the lily pad; stamp with Amethyst Ink. Add the tiny sentiment next to the stem with India Ink.

Apply a bit of Yellow watercolor to the wings.

Tap a wet water brush over the stamped images with blue and purple watercolors to add specks of color. Allow the panel to dry completely.

Die cut the white panel with a large oval.

Cut a larger oval to create a Purple mat.

Adhere the ovals to Lavender Crinkle Paper trimmed to 4x5-1/4". Nest onto a Yellow folded card base.

Card 6

Stamp the large lotus flower onto sticky-note paper.

Remove the flower with detail scissors.

Stamp the same image onto a white panel with Carnation Ink.

Position the sticky-note mask over the stamped image.

Position the lily pad stamp face down over the masked flower.

Pick up the stamp with the lid of the stamping platform.

Apply Leaf Ink; close the lid to transfer the leaf image to the panel.

Reposition the leaf stamp to the left side of the flower. Repeat the process above to add another leaf.

Remove the flower mask to reveal the layered images.

Add the sentiment to the panel with Ocean Ink.

Add clear sequins around the sentiment. Mat with Yellow over a strip of Pink. Center onto an Aqua card base.

Stamp the lotus bud and sentiment onto a small Pink panel with Carnation Ink. Adhere to the inside of the card; accent with a White Lotus Charm.

Card 7 - Shaker Card

Stamp the koi fish onto a white scrap with India Ink.

Color the images with watercolor pencils.

Activate the pigment with water; brush to blend the colors.

Remove the images with detail scissors.

Place one half of a folded Aqua card base into a polka dot embossing folder. Close the card around the folder and run through an embossing machine...

...to add texture to the front of the card base.

Die cut a circle from a 3-1/2x4-3/4" Purple panel.

Stamp a sentiment onto a Purple panel with Amethyst Ink.

Adhere a 3-1/4x4-1/2" clear acetate panel to the back of the panel with Bookbinding Glue.

Add foam strips to the back of the panel as shown, making sure the area around the circle is free of gaps.

Add a thin line of Bookbinding Glue dispensed from a Needle-tipped Applicator as shown.

Adhere one of the koi fish to the edge of the circle. Repeat with the second fish.

Remove the backing from the foam adhesive.

Place a small scoop of clear sequins onto the card base.

Center the Purple panel onto the Aqua card base, over the sequins. Be sure to use a clear grid ruler to guide placement.
