I recently realized my card stash was in need of more masculine birthday cards. (My husband has five brothers, and three of their birthdays are in July.) I also have a lot of friends and family who enjoy a good brew, so I challenged myself to make a batch of cards featuring the Hops and Barley Remix kit—currently clearance priced at $16.95, while supplies last.

White Envelopes: Four each of A2 Envelopes, A6 and A7
Sort, trim and score your papers according to the sketches and instructions, utilizing the following paper substitutions for each step below:
- Dk. Yellow, Lt. Yellow, Brown and Gold
- Dk. Yellow, Lt. Yellow, Brown and Gold
- White Linen
- White Linen
- (2) Stripe Prints
- Trim the cutaparts as normal, and modify as needed to decorate the inside and outside of the cards.
(You will have one each of the Dk. Yellow and Lt. Yellow, as well as two Ale Prints left over.)
Set A (Four A2 Cards)
Follow the general assembly guidelines on Page 3 of the instructions.
In lieu of the White Laser Cut Trees, add cutapart artwork, stamping, bottle caps and other embellishments.
The wooden leaves are a Dollar Tree find from my stash. Stamps featured are from Abundance (09.24), Chocolate (10.24), and Wine Time (2019) along with India and Earth CS® Hyrid ink.
The inside of each card features sentiments from Hops and Barley (2016) and Vines (08.24) stamps.
Set B (Four A6 Cards)
Follow the basic assembly as outlined on Page 4 of the instructions. Instead of ribbon, trim both bottle cap border strips at 6". The large White Linen panel looked a bit "plain" to me, so two feature added texture from embossing folders, and the other two were simply inked (Earth and Yellow CS® Hybrid inks) to highlight the linen texture.
To create the square sentiments, I altered and printed artwork from the Hops and Barley Digital Hybrid Printables download, however, you could easily substitute your favorite stamps.
Inside, stamp the "happy birthday" from the Abundance stamp sheet (09.24). The "Dinner is poured" stamp is from Wine Time (2019) and the small beer mug is from the Hops and Barley (2016) stamps.
Set C (Four A7 Cards)
Follow the card assembly guidelines on Page 5 of the instructions document. In lieu of the narrow silver ribbon, tie a simple knot into lengths of the plaid ribbon from the kit.
Trim the "can't buy happiness..." cutapart to fit the square panel. Remove each round element from the cutaparts with a 3.5" circle die* or punch (or trim with scissors). The Abundance "happy birthday" sentiment is a perfect fit for the front of the card.
Inside, add a pair of sentiments from the Hops and Barley (2016) stamp sheet with Earth CS® Hybrid ink.

Four Bonus A6 Cards
As mentioned above, you'll have four sheets of paper left over after following the Blue Christmas Card Kit instructions: One each of the Dk. Yellow and Lt. Yellow, as well as two Ale Prints. Create four more A6 cards using the trimming instructions below.
Trim two Ale Print, one Dk. Yellow and one Lt. Yellow at 6.25".
Rotate and cut the 6.25x12 at 9".
Trim the 5.75x12 at 11, 7.5 and 3.75".
Cut the 3.5x5.75 at 3.5".
Score each 9x12 in half at 4.5" and fold to create the base of each card.
Once the trimming is complete, loosely follow the assembly instructions on Page 4 of the instructions. Be sure to alternate colors of the card base, panel and square mat to "deal out" four cards.
Trim the two 2x12 printed cutpart border strips at 11.5 and 5.75". (These will replace the nested 1.75x5.75 and 2x6 strips in the original card design.) Add sentiments and embellishments as desired.
As with the first four A6 cards, I created the square sentiments using the digital download. The inside of each card features stamped sentiment pairings and Earth CS® Hybrid ink.
