Here's a quick visual tour of what you'll find in the Heartfelt collection.
Let's take a closer look at the eight pages you'll make when you follow the printable instructions included with purchase (sent via separate email when the order is fulfilled). In addition, I'll guide you through the assembly process. A link to my video workshop is provided in the instructions document.
If this collection looks familiar, it is a "sister" to an extremely popular kit released last year called "Heartstrings." If you missed out, today is your lucky day!
Layouts 1 & 2
I had so much fun creating "mini collages" with the goodies, ribbons and cutaparts provided in the collection. Take note of a tiny detail on the die cut tag where I rescued a small scrap of Aqua paper and tucked it behind the little heart shape.
A fun ribbon technique: Punch two holes into the top of the cutapart, about 1.5" apart. Thread the two ends of the ribbon through the two holes, from front to back. Exit through the opposite holes with each end of the ribbon and trim ends. (I call it the "candy wrapper ribbon trick.")
Layouts 3 & 4
It's another fun "mini collage"! Tear away the outside edge of the circular printed cutapart and top with a fussy-cut heart and the puffy heart. Wrap the taffeta-edged light gray satin ribbon around the cutapart and add a twine bow to the center. Layer into the page with the die cut tag, square heart cutapart and "love" cutapart. Adorable!
Add the "love" woodcut to the page title and add the little white heart shape popped out of the white tag, if you have it!
Layouts 5 & 6
I'll go into more detail about each embellishment and finishing touch in the workshop video. If you don't need guidance through the trimming process, simply use the chapter markers in the video to quickly find the layout pairing you're looking for.
Layouts 7 & 8
My favorite decorative scissors* creates a nifty postage edge. I thought it would be a cute addition to the 1.5" square "LOVE" cutapart. It turns out, Fiskars still carries the same set of deckle-edged scissors, even though I've had mine since the 90s.
Tie a knot into the end of the pink/white twine and tape the end to the back of the puffy heart. Repeat with a second heart, tie the thread tails together, and add the hearts to the page to create an adorable set of "balloons."
