Using the Geodes stamps to make a few cards gave me a tiny peek at what can be accomplished with these gorgeous images!

I always look forward to the day each month when I can "play" with the latest sheet of stamps. In the midst of deadlines, filming, blogging, meetings, and instruction writing, this creative time always brings me back to my first love!

Geodes Stamps - Card Inspiration

Allow me to give you a little photographic tour of this month's cards along with a few tips.

Card 1

I inherited a small jar of "pewter" embossing powder from my mom's old stash, and it still works like a charm. Emboss the large geode onto Purple plain with your favorite powder. "Paint" the inner areas with metallic watercolors or your favorite shimmery art medium. Trim the finished image with scissors and layer onto a Black panel with foam adhesive. Stamp and emboss the sentiment with the same powder, and accent with Silver Thinline Dazzles (Geodes Page Kit goodie).

Card 2

Stamp and emboss the rectangular geode onto a Black panel and add metallic watercolors. Stamp the sentiment onto a Blue panel with Ocean ink (color back in stock!), mat with Black, and layer onto a card with foam adhesive circles.

There's an unsuspectingly versatile stamp on the sheet . . . a simple set of little dots. Check out how it transformed the plain Black nesting panel when stamped with White Pigment ink! The image will double as a fantastic "snowy" option for wintry cards.

Round the lower left and upper right corners of the panels, and wrap the sentiment panel with black glitter washi tape and thinline stickers.

After embossing and coloring the small geode, adhere to a Teal panel with foam adhesive. For a fun card frame, simply use a grid ruler and the metallic silver pen featured in the Geodes Page Kit to add a frame 1/4" from the edge of the panel.

For this card, simply stamp and emboss the image on watercolor paper. Sprinkle with ColorBurst powders and mist with water to blend the colors. If you work on a non-stick craft sheet, there may be excess color on the sheet. Drag a white nesting panel through the color to create a fun background for the card.

Sometimes, simple and understated is just the way to go. Stamp and emboss the small geode three times onto black paper, alter with color and fussy cut. Anchor one geode on the lower left corner of a White card panel with a Thinline Dazzle. Layer the other two geodes onto the opposing corner with foam adhesive.

We brainstormed possible images to accompany the geodes in this collection, and loved Jac's idea for a gecko! Stamp three times onto a purple strip with our vivid White Pigment ink. Mat with black, and add Thinline Dazzles to the black layer. Finally, nest onto a Teal card panel and top with the nested "happy birthday."

Card 8

The contrast between the geode stamped on black paper against the stark white background creates the magic in this card. Simple and elegant, and it takes only a few minutes to create.

Enjoy your new Geodes stamps. They're going to be a stunning addition to your creative supplies!
