I'm so excited about the August collection! I actually had trouble deciding which (of the hundreds of) photos to scrap. I might have to make a second set of pages to accommodate additional layout ideas floating around in my head. Are you ready to see how my Fairytale layouts turned out?
Fairytale Page Kit - Layout 1 & 2
These photos from our recent family trip to Punta Cana are still warm from being printed. (Just kidding - but they're pretty fresh!) The lighting in some of the night photos reminded me of colors from the Fairytale palette, making them a natural fit. The cutapart sentiments are pretty perfect, too!
I didn't change much from the original layout design. On the left side, I did some extra fussy-cutting on the dragon cutapart.
On the right page, I performed a little "craft-knife magic" to bring the carriage image into the foreground.
Layout 3 & 4
My son's girlfriend looked like a princess in her light blue dress, so I couldn't resist scrapping more of her prom photos on this two-page spread.
On the left, I used a craft knife to trim around the carriage image - it seemed such a shame to hide it!
While photographing this occasion, I guess I had a case of "verticalitis" as I absentmindedly snapped away. Rearranging the mats and changing the orientation of the cutparts better accommodates these photos.
Layout 5 & 6
I realized I hadn't scrapped my friend's granddaughters' first birthday - and they'll be three in a few months. What could be sweeter on this collection than twin birthday girls? Even though the party had a donut motif, the pretty pinks, blues and purples in the photos fit the Fairytale theme perfectly.
In lieu of tiny photos, I trimmed scraps from the Fairytale Pack of Panels to fit the two small white squares, and topped each with a mini puffy star from the card kit.
Layout 7 & 8
The final spread features more photos from Luna and Thea's first birthday bash.
An additional photo, matted with paper from the pack of panels, is tucked into the lower right corner of the right page.
And there you have it! Three very different occasions scrapped on a single collection. Oh, and don't forget to check out the waterski show pics I scrapped on the Fairytale bonus page formula. Visit my blog post for details.
I hope I've inspired you to "think outside the pizza box" on this one. Be sure to share your finished pages, cards or other projects on our Club Scrap Chat group on Facebook.
Happy scrapping!
