My oldest son, Hunter, married his sweetheart, Liz Diels, on June 10. It was a perfect day for an intimate outdoor wedding. Club Scrap's Ever After Remix collection coordinated perfectly with the setting and color scheme, so I couldn't wait to get crafting.
When meeting Liz's family, they were curious about what I do for a living. I decided the best way to "explain" was to share my passion for handmade books by creating something beautiful for her parents and grandparents.
Ever After U-Hinge Book
The wedding ceremony was held on Liz's grandparents' property, so I wanted to make Grandma Mary and Grandpa Mike a small keepsake album. I chose the U-Hinge Book, mostly for the compact size, but also because it holds a lot of photos. You can easily construct one for yourself using the Ever After Remix Page kit, 12x12 Mat Board, and the U-Hinge Book Instructions download.
Decorate the trifold pages with Cutaparts from the collection.
A journaling prompt is the perfect spot for a brief dedication.
Trifold Album - Script Print
I made Trifold Albums for my parents and Liz's parents. I chose this format because while its size makes it portable, it still includes tons of real estate for photos. I made two books from a single page kit, supplemented with papers from my stash.
Both albums are constructed from three sheets of Steel Gray folding board. For the interior, papers were trimmed according to the Trifold Album Workshop Instructions download.
The album cover for Liz's parents' book is decorated using the Ever After Script Print.
Inside, each section of the trifold holds a variety of photos. The center waterfall-style pages are perfect for horizontal photos.
The pocket on the right is home to a removable accordion-folded pamphlet perfect for vertical photos.
Trifold Album - Greenery Print
The cover of my parents' album features the Greenery Print.
The three sections inside the album are very similar to the other book.
Waterfall pages hold horizontal photos...
...and the accordion-folded pamphlet displays vertical photos.
I hope everyone likes receiving these handmade albums as much as I enjoyed making them. Next on the agenda is a gift album for Hunter and Liz, and of course, scrapbook pages for myself. I think this project will keep me busy for a while...
Happy crafting!
