Embossing Folders and Stencils - How To
Place a white panel into an embossing folder and run it through a die cut machine. Note: All machines are different, so be sure to check your machine's instructions manual for proper plate/sandwich combinations.
Position a stencil over the embossed panel and secure with removable tape. Apply ink through the stencil openings with an Ink Applicator Brush using a circular motion.
Carefully remove the stencil to reveal the stenciled image. I love how the raised edges of the embossed paper catch the ink and create a wonderful texture.
Play with different combinations of folders, ink colors and stencils.
The most dramatic results can be achieved when you pair white embossed panels with stencils that have larger openings.
Let's take a look at the finished card samples we created with this technique.
(The finished size of each card is 4.25x5.5", unless otherwise noted.)
