Gather twelve sheets of paper, three ink pads and the Boughs of Joy stamps and let's make some cards!
Twelve Christmas Cards
To get started, gather the following Boughs of Joy items and additional supplies:
Stamps
(2) Duplex Prints
(10) 12x12 Plains: 2 ea. of Red, Blue, Gold, Brown, Ivory
(2) Ivory Plain (to replace Cutaparts)
CS® Hybrid Ink Pads in Earth, Red and Spruce
Toile Card Kit Instructions
(12) Envelopes: Four each of A2, A6, Slimline
Stamping Platform (optional, but handy to achieve professional-looking stamped impressions)
Sort, trim and score your papers according to the sketches and cutting diagrams in the Toile Card Kit Instructions. I utilized the following paper substitutions for each step below:
- Red, Blue, Brown, Ivory
- Red, Blue, Brown, Ivory
- Duplex Print
- Duplex Print
- Ivory Plain
- Ivory Plain
If you'd like to make cards exactly like mine, you'll also want two 12x12 Gold Plain, trimmed to create extra panels for select cards. Trim one 12x12 to create panels to replace the handmade paper, and the other as an extra layer between two nested Ivory panels.
Set A (Four A2 Cards)
Follow the general assembly guidelines on Page 3 of the instructions, substituting 3.25x4.5" trimmed Gold panels for the Handmade Paper.
Stamp the pine sprig with Spruce and the sentiment with Earth on each small Ivory square. Center onto the square panel. Nest the card panels; add a length of ribbon, wrap the ends around to the back and secure with clear tape.
Inside, stamp the sentiment with Earth, accented with botanicals stamped with Spruce ink.
Set B (Four A6 Cards)
Follow the basic assembly as outlined on Page 4 of the instructions. Stamp the sentiment and images onto the Ivory panels with Earth, Red and Spruce ink.
Wrap a length of ribbon around one corner of the front sentiment panel, wrap the ends around to the back and secure with clear tape. Tie a small bow around the ribbon with a small piece of jute.
Set C (Four Slimline Cards)
Follow the card assembly guidelines on Page 5 of the instructions document. Trim the printed panel into three sections if desired, alternating which printed side is shown. (I trimmed the 3x8" printed panel horizontally at 7.75, 6.25 and 3.75" to create perfect spacing and well balanced pieces.)
Add a 1-5/8x6-1/8" Gold nesting panel between the Ivory layers.
Another Gold 3.25x8.25" panel separates the layers inside the Ivory card.
