Create a beautiful rainbow of birds on a slimline card with the Farm Critters Remix stamp set. Slimline cards are all the rage and I couldn't resist combining the multi colored images with this popular card layout.
Birds Slimline Card
Make a cloudy sky background with a slimline stencil and Sapphire Ink applied with an Ink Applicator Brush. If you don't have a cloud stencil, simply tear a sheet of scrap paper vertically and use the irregular torn edge as a mask.
Stamp the bird image six times onto mixed media paper with India Ink.
Color each bird in a different color of the rainbow with markers.
Apply more color with the same marker to add shading to the birds.
Fussy cut the birds with scissors.
Cut a 12" length of black waxed linen thread and adhere the ends to the back of the stenciled panel with clear tape.
Allow the thread to remain loose to provide for a gentle curve on the front of the panel.
Stamp the sentiment onto the panel with India Ink.
Add trimmed pieces of foam adhesive to the back of each bird. Leave an open space near the base of the wings to allow room for the waxed linen thread.
Position each bird onto the waxed linen. Pair the artwork with Zest for Life Green, Dark Yellow, and Yellow panels and layer onto a white slimline card base.
