It's fun to combine supplies from your paper crafting stash with other found items to create beautiful home decor pieces for the new year. For this project, I upcycled a special edition lighthouse-shaped wine bottle, but you could use a regular-shaped bottle as well. (I wasn't about to throw away that cool bottle!) I painted the bottle white and then added ocean-themed elements courtesy of my stash of "HPOPs" (half pounds of paper). Visit my personal blog HERE for more details.)
Make use of your favorite die cutting tools (I use Sizzix brand steal rule, decorative strip, thinlit, and sizzlit dies) and papers to create greens and other foliage for altered art.
I included papers from Raku, Ornamental, Random Doorways and Reunion and added faux dew drops with Glossy Accents.
The stamped compass image from the 2006 Retreat Maritime kit was fussy-cut from Random Doorways brown paper.
Add depth to your project by laminating a CS pizza box with paper and die cutting with sea creature and foliage shapes. The seahorse was embossed with the Tin Tiles folder and accented with Ocean ink. Have fun looking for more ways to get even more out of your Club Scrap crafting stash! Now, to get working on another wine bottle.
