Create a gorgeous altered horseshoe project with paper flowers and goodies from the Western collection.
We've had an old shoe hanging in our bathroom for some time now. Originally, it was decorated with dried flowers that have since fallen off. I decided it was definitely in need of a makeover.
Altered Horseshoe Project
Clean the surface of an old horseshoe so that it is free of dirt, dust, and debris.
Gather items from the Western collection including a selection of panels, prints, ribbons, and metal embellishments.
Select a few flower punches to make a variety of beautiful blossoms.
Punch flowers from a Coffeehouse Ivory and Western Blue Panel.
Punch large daisies from the Paisley Print.
Form the flowers on a firm foam sheet with a ball stylus tool.
Adhere layers of flowers together with your favorite quick-drying glue.
Press the center of a metal flower with the stylus to form a cup shape.
Glue it into the center of the large daisy cluster.
Arrange the paper flowers on a work surface before permanently gluing onto the horseshoe.
Add dots of Liquid Pearls (Pearl) to the centers of some of the flowers.
Stamp the sentiment onto a small piece of Ivory paper with Earth Ink and cut into the shape of a tiny tag.
Tie plaid ribbon into a bow to add a lovely finishing touch. And there you have it . . . the completed altered horseshoe project!
I hope you will take a look around for vintage items that need a bit of altering. Be sure to visit the Club Scrap Chat group to watch a video tutorial on making these gorgeous paper flowers.
Happy crafting, pardner!
