September Page Sketch
So much more than just a "sketch", the September Page Formula creates a well-balanced two-page spread from five 12x12 papers.
Making pages is easy: Gather the number of papers indicated on the gather list, trim and sort them according to the step-by-step instructions, and assemble the finished layout with the sketch as your guide.
Toile Bonus Layout—Before Photos
This bonus layout has space for up to thirteen photos. To recreate the two-page spread below, gather the following Toile papers:
- Paper A = Lt. Blue Plain
- Paper B = Dk. Blue Plain
- Paper C = Bonus Print
- Paper D = (2) 12x12 Gray Plain
Toile Layout—Karen
Apply Sapphire ink directly onto the surface of the Family Woodcut, let dry completely. Once dry, apply Bookbinding Glue (in a Needle-tipped Applicator) to the plain side and center it over the trio of printed mini mats at the top of the page.
Bring the artwork to the foreground with a craft knife and cutting mat: Carefully trim around the leaf image on the 5x7 printed panel and tuck the double-matted photo underneath.
Crop an extra photo to 3-1/8x3-5/8" and tuck it into the open space at the bottom of the page.
Trim a white plain scrap to 2x3"; use a pencil and grid ruler to lightly draw journaling guidelines. Adhere to the 2.25x3.25 Dk. Blue panel, accent with a silver Embroidered Leaf.
On the right page, center a length of Dk. Blue satin ribbon onto the .75x12 Lt. Blue strip. In order to expose as much of the gorgeous Bonus Print border as possible, I chose to relocate the smaller Lt. Blue panel at the bottom of the page.
Crop the reserved Lt. Blue panel to 3-5/8x4-4/8", mat with a 3-3/4x5-1/8" Dk. Blue (Pack of Panels) and center over the twin Lt. Blue mats at the top of the page.
Toile Pages—Tricia
To recreate Tricia's two-page spread, utilize the following paper assignments: Dk. Blue (Paper A). Gray (B), Card Print (C) and two Tan (Paper D).
On the left, create a page title with alphabet dies and Dk. Blue from the Toile Pack of Panels. Cut the year from the smallest panel with number dies.
On the right, center a "chain" border (die cut from Tan) onto the border strip at the top of the page. Add journaling. Easy peasy!
Create a lovely two page spread when you pair the September bonus formula with five sheets of 12x12 paper. The trimming and assembly process takes just minutes! These instructions can be used again and again to make additional pages with paper and supplies you already have on hand.
