Create amazing depth of color and texture using embossing folders combined with heat set powders. Then kick it up another notch with Color Burst!

IMG_2649

Follow the steps below to achieve this look. Add a raised pattern to a 4x5.25" panel of watercolor paper inserted into an embossing folder and run through an embossing machine. (I use a Big Shot from Sizzix.)

IMG_2602

Swipe the Metallic Gold ink pad over the raised surface of the paper.

IMG_2590

Sprinkle with gold embossing powder and melt with a heat tool.

IMG_2593

Allow the panel to cool and dust with Lemon Yellow, Alizarin Crimson, and Pthalo Green Color Burst pigment powders.

IMG_2595 IMG_2594

Mist panel with water.

IMG_2596

Allow to dry or set with heat tool.

Add panel to a 5.5x8.5" Moroccan Spice Purple folded card base. Embellish with ribbons and a stamped sentiment.

Experiment with different embossing techniques using alternate ink and embossing powder colors. Change up the Color Burst combinations for dramatic results!

Bonus Technique - Stamped Folder Double Emboss

Open the Embossing folder and stamp the Borders and Backgrounds UM medallion onto the back of the front cover.

IMG_2631

Lay watercolor paper into folder and run through embossing machine. The stamped image will only be printed onto the de-bossed areas of the panel.

Proceed with the Double Emboss technique from above.
