Welcome to the Navigation Blog Hop! Today we have over 18 bloggers celebrating Club Scrap's December collection.

As a lover of all things travel, map and vintage document-related, it was pretty much a given I would love this collection.

For my December hop project, I was once again inspired by Pinterest. I enjoy handmade books and exploring different book binding methods, so when I saw THIS PIN, I knew I had to pair it with Navigation. Even the name of the folding technique--the Turkish Map Fold--seemed serendipitous.

If you're interested in more information about how my book was constructed, please scroll down to the bottom of this post.

I hope you are as excited as I am to see what our other bloggers have created. Roni is your next stop, but if you get lost along the way, you can get back on track using the list below. Enjoy!

NAVIGATION TURKISH MAP FOLD BOOK

IMG_0226

Start with three Navigation 12x12 prints. Follow the clear instructions provided HERE to fold each piece. Use Bookbinding Glue or ATG to connect the three folded pieces.

Create covers from book board. Mine are 6.5 x 6", but I also loved the idea of the circular cover on the inspiration piece--I might have to try that next. Trim outside cover wraps from Brown Plain that are at least 1.5" wider and longer than book board covers. To make covers that look like aged leather, spritz card stock with water and crumple paper to create wrinkles. Smooth out paper and ink the raised areas. Once the desired look is achieved, wrap book board using Bookbinding Glue.

Trim inside cover wraps from Brown Plain that are 1/2" smaller than book board covers. Adhere with Bookbinding Glue.

Use Bookbinding Glue or ATG to attach Turkish Map folded piece to front and back book board covers.
