The Stacked Book Box Components kit includes a set of three boxes in three different sizes: 5x7", 6.5x8.5" and 8x10". You can design the boxes to coordinate and stack together, or create each box separately. They also make great gifts!

I was inspired by the Art Journal workshop I taught at the 2014 Retreat. We used metal flashing tape over dimensional items to create an antiqued metal cover for our journals. I used the same treatment for the cover of my box. The "antiquing" is just a dry-brush with black acrylic paint.

I painted the inside box frame with the same black paint, and added "shelves" made from scrap book board. The drawer dividers are also cut from book board. The drawers are made from mat board wrapped with gray paper, and stamped with numbers from the Chapter One Font UM. The photos are my paternal grandmother and grandfather, Helen and Lloyd Chaffey.

The back cover was wrapped in a design classic paper from long, long ago (Color in Black & White printed on Textiles & Notions Teal). I created the faux metal frame the same way I made the cover. The dimensional items are from a TH grungeboard pack I've had for years.

This is the only photograph our family has of my grandparents together. Unfortunately, my grandfather passed away when my father was 3 years old. I think this project is a wonderful way to display these precious memories.

I hope this inspires you to create special keepsakes of your own.
