I recently saw a fun twist on the emboss resist technique and couldn't wait to try it with the gorgeous sunflower stamp.
My sister-in-law asked me to make her a special wedding card for a friend. The invite featured some sunflower artwork, so I knew exactly which stamp set to gather when making this card.
Sunflower Stamp Wedding Card
Stamp the large single stem sunflower image onto white paper with embossing ink. Sprinkle with white embossing powder and heat set to melt.
Apply water-reactive inks (Distress Squeezed Lemonade and Distress Oxide Fossilized Amber) over the embossed sunflower with an Ink Applicator Brush.
Wipe the embossed image with a soft, dry cloth to remove any excess inks.
Gather a variety of colored pencils in orange, yellow, brown and shades of green.
Add color inside the embossed lines of the image to create a sense of depth with the shading.
Create a bit of shadow with the brown pencil.
Adhere the artwork to a folded card base. The sunflower charm and Damask sentiments are the perfect additions to complete the card.
