Our May Guest Artist received the Lavender Fields card kit and stamps, and was asked to "do her own thing". We just love Nancy's cards, and we hope you do, too!
LAVENDER FIELDS CARD KIT - GUEST ARTIST CARDS
SET A: STONE EASEL CARDS
Follow the folding directions for the easel card for three cards. Make the stamped perfume bottle image look more realistic by applying Clear Tar Gel. (You also could use Glossy Accents or other product for a similar effect.) Be sure to let it dry overnight!
Add texture to the dark purple panels with an embossing folder. Adhere bits of lavender sprig and a bee brad (from my stash).
Score the card base per Tricia's instructions, but change the fold and add a full-size panel, so it works like a traditional easel card. Stamp images with a lavender colored chalk ink to create the background. Add cutaparts and fibers.
Stamp the perfume bottle image onto acetate using Staz-on ink. Adhere to another bottle stamped onto stone paper to give a glass-like effect.
SET B: LAVENDER GATE FOLD CARDS
The 5x7 gate-fold cards give you lots of room to be creative! The first two cards are folded in the gate-fold manner. Add stamping and ink the edges. All each needs is a wee bit of embellishment. Download and print select digital images to dress up the belly band, if desired. Score and fold the two remaining cards in half. Stamp the collage image onto watercolor paper and emboss with clear EP. Add watercolors for a soft look, then remove the embossing with a craft iron.
SET C: GREEN CARDS
Create a subtle background by stamping the sprig image onto the dark purple panels with purple ink. Stamp onto the twill ribbon as shown in Tricia's video. Create a "window box" from gray paper (from my HPOPs stash). Print the doily image from the digital hybrid kit, stamp with lavender image multiple times. Adhere bits of lavender sprig for dimension.
For the remaining two cards, I added stamping and stenciling to the panels. Add texture to the dark purple inside panel with a wood grain embossing folder. Stencil background using Vintage Botany Dandelion Overlay Stencil.
I was pretty thrilled to be chosen as Guest Artists for this month’s card kit. I mean, how can you go wrong with Lavender Fields? This was a great kit to work with and I have many more ideas for the future!
