One of my favorite images from the Boardwalk collection is the ice cream cone. Who doesn't love ice cream? I thought the image would be fun on birthday cards, but the UM stamp image was a bit smaller than I wanted. Luckily, the ice cream cone image is included in the Boardwalk Digital kit. Since it's a digital image, it can be resized as desired. Score!

Striped backgrounds are synonymous with ice cream parlors of old, so I chose the red/white and blue/white striped backgrounds for panels on my cards. After cropping, resizing, layering and flattening everything, I came up with this:

After printing the artwork onto Boardwalk White Plain, I trimmed the panels to 4 x 5.25" and adhered them to Sage plain card bases.

Anyone who loves ice cream knows one scoop is never enough. Therefore, I not only fussy-cut a cone for each card, but extra scoops of ice cream, too!

I'm kind of a chocoholic, so I used watercolor pencils to make one of the cones "chocolate".

Adhere the fussy-cut cones to the panels using Foam Adhesive Circles. Decorate the front and inside of the cards with sentiments from the Greeting UM.

You wouldn't believe how quick 'n easy these cards came together! Even though I used digital products, I still got to "play" with paper. These two cards will be just a drop in the bucket toward the number the July birthday cards I've gotta send, so I'd better get busy!
