The Freeway collection features a simple, neutral color palette paired with abstract street grid artwork. The Page Kit layouts are so versatile, they provide the perfect backdrop for documenting memories from almost any occasion!
Freeway Page Kit
Although each Club Scrap Page Kit creates eight coordinating pages, I rarely use all of them for a single occasion or event. In this case, four pages worked for a single occasion, and the other four feature separate memories.
Layout 1 & 2
As soon as I saw the color palette and artwork for the Freeway page kit, I knew it would be perfect for visits to our nearest big city, Chicago. My daughter and her friend recently spent a day there exploring.
Rather that cropping individual photos to fit the small black mats, a single photo spans each pair on the left page.
Layout 3 & 4
This two page spread was perfect "as is". No changes needed!
Layout 5 & 6
This two-page spread features photos from when my youngest son stopped by the house while working. Patrick was super excited to see Uncle Max and check out his LLV (postal vehicle). Who knows, maybe Patrick will follow in the footsteps of his Papa, Daddy and uncle and work for USPS someday ,too!
Most of the photos from this occasion had a vertical orientation. Sometimes I'll use photo-editing software to change the photo, however, in this case, I would have lost important parts of the image. Instead, I chose to rearrange the mats on the left page so they were all vertical. In my humble opinion, staggering the mats made it look "natural".
On the right side, I chose to add a photo to the 4x6 cutapart. A bit of craft knife magic brought the "exit" sign artwork to the foreground.
Layout 7 & 8
Finally, the last two pages feature more photos from Emma and Paige's trip to Chicago. These pics are from their visit to Willis Tower—however, in my mind, will forever be known as "Sears Tower".
On the right side, I used slightly different ribbon techniques than Tricia did in her original layouts.
You won't believe how versatile this kit is. The colors go with EVERYTHING! The pages are perfect for photos from a road trip, a visit to a big city, a new driver in the family—the list goes on and on!
Once the trimming was completed, it took me less than an hour to assemble the pages and select, crop and adhere the photos to my pages.
