Create beautiful cards with printed papers and the popular Eclipse Technique. The technique is designed as an optical illusion that creates 3D effect on a stamped or printed background. Why not give it a try to take your card making to new heights!
The finished size of each card below is 4.25x5.5", unless otherwise noted.

Tutorial
To get started, gather the following supplies:
- Printed Paper
- Plain Paper for card bases and panels
- Bookbinding Glue in a Needle-tipped Applicator
- Foam Adhesive
- Paper Trimmer*
Trim the flower garden portion of a 12x12" Cottage Garden House Print to create two 3.75x5" card panels.
Position each panel into the paper trimmer* horizontally and cut into 1/2" strips (trim at 4.5, 4, 3.5, 3, 2.5, 2, 1.5, 1 and .5".) As you cut, allow the pieces to stack up in reverse order so the print can easily be re-assembled.
Apply Bookbinding Glue with a Needle-tipped Applicator to the back of the first strip.
Adhere the first strip to a 4x5.25" Pink Metallic (Legacy 07.22) panel. Leave an 1/8" reveal on the top, left and bottom edges.
Adhere foam adhesive tape to the back of the second printed strip.
I won this large roll of craft foam tape at a recent crop—you can use whatever you have on hand.
Remove the backing.
Adhere the second strip to the panel with the left edge flush with the first.
Repeat these steps until the entire print is adhered to the Pink Metallic panel. Make sure to alternate strips attached directly to the panel and every other strip adhered with foam adhesive.
Embellishments
Stamp a sentiment (Cottage Garden 04.26) onto a white panel with Carnation Ink.
Adhere the Eclipse panel to a folded white 4.25x5.5" card base. Mat the sentiment with Pink Metallic paper. Adhere a Silk Flower above the sentiment. Repeat all steps with the second card.

Lisa paired the Sunny Fields Small Print with the Eclipse Technique in a vertical orientation. Create an embellishment with blue translucent paper and a flower punch. Nest two punched flowers together; top with a sentiment strip.
Repeat to make a second card. Adhere small gold sequins to the card panel for a touch of sparkle.
