Create more Coming Up Roses pages when you pair the April Bonus Formula with papers and stamps from the collection.
Coming Up Roses Pages
Gather five plain papers from the Coming Up Roses collection as indicated in the April Bonus Formula. I utilized the following paper assignments: Ivory (Paper A), Dk. Brown (Paper B), and Red (Paper C). Two Lt. Brown (Paper D) serves as the base of the layout.
Custom "Print" Tutorial
Separate the Ivory (Paper A) from the stack and place onto a padded work surface. (I use my Club Scrap grid paper pad.)
Select the large floral cluster stamp from the set and mount on an 8x8" grid ruler. This ruler is 1/8" thick, as compared to the 1/2" thickness of most acrylic stamping blocks. The thin square ruler helps me achieve a cleaner image on the first try. I chose to work with Red Ink.
Begin stamping along the edges of the Ivory paper.
Press firmly with the palm of your hand to ensure proper image transfer. Remember to allow the stamped images to "fall off" the edges of the paper to mimic a "real" print.
Continue to add images around the perimeter and then down the center of the Ivory paper.
Add interest with Burnt Umber Stipple Mist applied directly to the paper from the nozzle. Tap the tube end of the nozzle over the paper releasing droplets of color.
Repeat this process with Goldmine I Zink spray from Seth Apter.
Once the "print" is complete, it's time to cut the papers according to the instructions in the formula.
Trimming and Assembly
Trim and sort the 12x12" papers: Custom Ivory "Print" (Paper A), Dk. Brown (Paper B), and Red (Paper C).
Once the trimming is complete, refer to the sketch to dry fit the pieces.
Distress the edges of the "print" papers with Earth Ink.
Center the gold edged ribbon across the long border strip on the right page.
Wrap the ends around the back of the strips and secure with clear tape.
Wrap another piece of ribbon around the corner of one square mat on the left page.
Secure to the back with clear tape.
Adhere a portion of the rose vine Dazzles to the small rectangle on the right page. Dust the panel with a Powder Tool*.
Stamp a sentiment with Watermark Ink.
Cover the wet ink with gold embossing powder and heat set to melt.
Draw lines onto the other Dk. Brown rectangle with a grid ruler and pencil. This makes the perfect spot for journaling.
Before cropping the photos, test fit them over each mat to ensure proper placement.
Decorate each of the six Dk. Brown squares with Dazzles stickers allowing some of them to "fall off" the edge of the panels.
Trim off any excess with scissors. Reserve the cut pieces to adhere to other squares.
When you are satisfied with the arrangement, add journalling with a gold pen, crop the photos to fit each mat and adhere everything into place.
Happy scrapping!
