Create gorgeous art orphan cards with a variety of techniques paired with favorite Club Scrap stamps and papers.
Art Orphan Cards
What is an art orphan? It is artwork created when you experiment with a new technique that hasn't found a home on a final project. I have been having a lot of fun hosting Facebook Live demos on the Club Scrap Chat group. After each session, I am left with a pile of artsy panels. What do you do with them all? Make cards, of course!
Stenciled Gel Prints
Stamp Aviary images in India Ink directly onto Distress Oxides stencil gel prints. Panels were created with the Damask Filigree and Confetti Dots stencils.
Layer the orphans onto Hello, Sunshine Orange and Yellow panels.
Stamped Gel Prints
Card 1 - Embossed resist Hello, Sunshine daisy images shine through the Barn Door Distress Oxides and Damask Filigree stencil gel print.
Card 2 - Add colors to the gel plate with Club Scrap's Sapphire, Ocean, and Moss inks. Lay the daisy stamps into the wet ink on the gel plate to create this fun background. Stamp off the images onto a plain white panel and set aside.
Trace the daisy images with a light gray brush tipped marker to add a shadow that makes them pop!
Dot the center of each flower with coordinating Nuvo Drops.
Sunshine Watercolor Gel Prints
Stamp the large sunshine image and sentiment with India Ink over the pale watercolor gel prints created with Hybrid and Distress Oxide inks.
Add color to the sun's rays with pencils. Layer the art orphans onto Hello, Sunshine and Confetti panels.
Stipple Mists Gel Print
Spray Lagoon, Leaf, and Opaque White Stipple Mists directly onto the Gelli plate and pull a print. Fussy cut stamped daisies saved from the stamped gel print above and adhere onto the background with Bookbinding Glue dispensed from a Needle-tipped Applicator.
Add Nuvo Glitter Drops to the center of each daisy.
Floating Daisies Textured Gel Print
Stamp daisies onto a gel print created with corrugated cardboard packing material and Distress Oxide inks. Visit this blog post for details.
