I had the honor and pleasure of teaching two projects at the 2015 Club Scrap Retreat. They were both very cool, so I thought I'd offer you a closer look at each of them.

MEMENTO HOLDER

Wild Flowers Memento Holder

On Thursday evening, the Retreat attendees gathered together after dinner for their first workshop, the Memento Holder. The class version featured art and papers from the Wanderlust collection, but three other versions were available for sale: Wild Flowers, Cape Cod and Bookshelves.

In addition to being a paper crafting fanatic, I also have a passion for gardening. So it should come as no surprise the Wild Flowers version was my favorite. Once it was all stitched together and assembled, it made an excellent gardening journal.

Part of what makes this project unique is it includes folded manila envelopes. The half with the clasp offers a secure place to stash loose items.

With a clever trimming trick, the other half of the manila envelopes become decorative pages with angled pockets, great for holding smaller items like seed packets.

The inside pages measure approximately 6x9", giving you plenty of space for photos, journaling and embellishments.

I even added a graph paper diagram of my 2015 veggie plot to help with next year's crop rotation.

All four versions hold a ton of photos and ephemera. They're versatile, too . . . you can bet I'll be making a few for those on my Christmas list.

EASY DOZEN ALBUM

On Friday morning, Retreat attendees split into two groups to rotate through the rest of the workshops. While half the group took Paper Making with Kim, the other half joined me for the Easy Dozen Album Workshop. The class was really like taking two workshops in one: in the first hour we built the album from scratch, and we spent the second hour trimming all the papers to create a dozen 11 x 8.5" (landscape) ALSB pages.

Jac created a special paper collection exclusively for this workshop called the Full Circle Remix. The colors are bright and cheerful. It made finishing the album with photos super quick and easy.

The completed album and pages make for one bright and happy scrapbook! With the holidays fast approaching, why not pick up a couple of these great projects? Each one takes less than 2 hours to assemble and they'd make wonderful handmade gifts.

Happy crafting!
