There is something wonderfully therapeutic about coloring. It helps me de-stress and sparks creativity. This month's Lakes unmounted stamps are perfect for coloring techniques! Remember . . . the artwork doesn't have to be a completely open line drawing to call for markers, gelatos, watercolors, or colored pencils!
All images on the cards below were stamped with India Ink to prevent smudging, shaded with watercolor pencils and blended with a waterbrush. Elementary? Maybe, but that's okay with me!
My favorite part is making the fish the color I want them to be, not necessarily the hues or color tones you'd find in the encyclopedia.
Stamp and color the small fish from the UM Greeting. Trim and layer onto a card with foam adhesive.
Combine masking and coloring techniques. Stamp the large UM collage first, cover with a mask, and surround with additional Lakes stamp images.
This card features one of my favorite images from the Lakes Art Nouveau UM. Simply stamp, color and add a soft background with blended watercolor pencils.
Let's take a look back at a few past collections featuring the same coloring techniques . . .
Wishing you a most creative day with time to relax and color!
